Damian O'Sullivan was born in England in 1969 of Franco-Irish parents, and grew up in the Netherlands. He studied industrial design at the Royal College of Art in London and upon completing his Masters started his design career by designing bags and accessories for the French luxury goods manufacturer Hermès. A year later he was asked to join Philips Design in Eindhoven. There he worked on both design and strategy issues for the company.

Four years later he set up his own design office: Damian O'Sullivan Design, with a mission to provide new and original work for a diverse range of clients.

Initial assignments have been as diverse as they have been interesting: an 18m high landmark in London, a water sculpture for Anish Kapoor, the design for the OnStream back-up drives, perfume bottles for Comme des Garçons, a home cinema system for Pioneer, concepts for Lexus Cars, a colour printer for Ricoh, shoe designs for Paul Smith, Asics and Camper.

In 2003 Damian O’Sullivan also started The Cottage Industry, for more information about these products please click here.
